A Walk around Lee “New Town”

The Lee Manor Society invites you to join a fascinating walking tour of Lee “New Town” – the historic area north of Lee High Road.

Paul Wright, a local historian, will guide you around the area, starting at St Margaret’s Churchyard on Lee terace.

The route takes in some of the very large houses built In the early nineteenth century. The grounds of Dacre House were gradually developed to become Kingswood Place, Dacre Park and Quentin Road. The grounds of Lee Place were sold in 1824 and the area known as Lee New Town was developed as working class housing. During the walk the history of these areas will be explained with many illustrations.

The walk is at 10 30Am on Saturday October 10th, and will last for approximately two hours. Please register to join by clicking here.
