More History of Lee

A fascinating little booklet, produced by the Lee Manor Society in 1991, has turned up – so we are sharing it here as a pdf document.

It includes a short history of the area taken from a book, “The Story of Lee” published in 1923. There is also an interesting article about the way Victorians built their towns and suburbs.

New Pictures from the Society Archive

We have been delving into the Society archive and discovered some old photos. They include pictures of the Cedars, the grandest country house in the Lee area. You can see the pictures here. We will add more photos soon.
