The police have stepped up their campaign against knife crime and robbery in the Lee area amid what they call “ongoing tension” related to “Red vs Blue” conflicts.

According to reports the government is “deeply concerned” about social media posts encouraging violence between rival schools, although there is no evidence so far of any disorder as a result.

Last week the police   issued a Section 35 Dispersal Order in Greenwich to deter anti-social behaviour and violence.

Safer Neighbourhood Team police officers will be at Bromley Magistrates Court on Monday March 1st to seek a Criminal Behaviour Order against a known prolific shoplifter and burglar who has been operating in Lee. The police have also stepped up patrols because of an increase in break-ins in Lee High Road and Burnt Ash Road.

The Lee Green ward police panel is holding one of its regular meetings on March 12th at Manor House Library, starting at 7 pm.
