The scourge of e-bikes, dumped randomly on pavements on Lee may soon be solved. A recent meeting of the Lee Manor Society heard that Lee will at last be getting dedicated bays where e-bike users must leave their bikes or face being fined.
Cllr Laura Sessions told the meeting that three bays were being installed in Lee in phase 4 of the roll out, although she had told the Council more would be needed. This map shows where the proposed bays will be: on Manor Lane and Cambridge Drive. Cllr Sessions hoped more bays would be added in phase 5.
The system already operates in the west of Lewisham. Users cannot end their ride until they have deposited the bike in a designated bay. If they dump it randomly they will continue to be charged.

The system is already operating in Greenwich. This bay is on the far side of Blackheath near Greenwich Park. People in the west of Lewisham say the system has not entirely solved the problem of bikes being piled up in large numbers. It also doesn’t prevent people riding them without paying for the power.
Lewisham’s FAQ sheet online includes an email address for reporting dumped bikes. It’s lewisham@li.me or you can use the the Love Clean Streets app.
