The £28 million footbridge at Hither Green station opened earlier this month, but without lifts.
It’s understood the four 16-person lifts won’t be available for passengers until at least March next year. So for the time being Hither Green still has no step-free access.
The footbridge will eventually connect the platforms with the new station entrances on Fernbrook Road and Springbank Road.
South Eastern say the station refurbishment will include new CCTV, a public address system, customer information screens, a ticket vending machine and Oyster card readers.
They plan is also to restore the adjacent nature reserve, with replanting to support environmental recovery and biodiversity.
